COLOSSIANS

  • Col 1:21-23: 21 And you who once were alienated and hostile in mind because of evil deeds 22 he has now reconciled in his fleshly body through his death, to present you holy, without blemish, and irreproachable before him, 23 provided that you persevere in the faith, firmly grounded, stable, and not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, am a minister.
  • Col 1:27: It is Christ in you, the hope for glory.

  • Col 3:2: Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.
  • Col 3:3-4: 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.
  • Col 3:5: Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry.
  • Col 3:8: But now you must put them all away: anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths.
  • Col 3:9-10: 9 Stop lying to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its creator.

1 CORINTHIANS

  • 1 Cor 12:4-7: 4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; 5 there are different forms of service but the same Lord; 6 there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. 7 To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit.
  • 1 Cor 12:11: But one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing them individually to each person as he wishes.
  • 1 Cor 12:12-13: 12 As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptised into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.
  • 1 Cor 15:2: Through it you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

2 CORINTHIANS

  • 2 Cor 1:3-4: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all encouragement, who encourages us in our every affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God.
  • 2 Cor 1:6: If we are afflicted, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer.
  • 2 Cor 1:7: Our hope for you is firm, for we know that as you share in the sufferings, you also share in the encouragement.
  • 2 Cor 3:5-6: 5 Not that of ourselves we are qualified to take credit for anything as coming from us; rather, our qualification comes from God, 6 who has indeed qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of letter but of spirit; for the letter brings death, but the Spirit gives life.
  • 2 Cor 3:17: Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
  • 2 Cor 4:1: Therefore, since we have this ministry through the mercy shown us, we are not discouraged.
  • 2 Cor 4:7: But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.
  • 2 Cor 4:8-11: 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
  • 2 Cor 4:12: So death is at work in us, but life in you.
  • 2 Cor 4:15: Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.
  • 2 Cor 5:15: He indeed died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
  • 2 Cor 5:17: So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.
  • 2 Cor 5:20: So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
  • 2 Cor 6:2: In an acceptable time I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
  • 2 Cor 6:3: We cause no one to stumble in anything, in order that no fault may be found with our ministry.
  • 2 Cor 8:2: For in a severe test of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their profound poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.
  • 2 Cor 9:6: Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
  • 2 Cor 9:7: Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
  • 2 Cor 9:8: God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.
  • 2 Cor 9:11: You are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God.

  • 1 Th 4:10-12: 10 Nevertheless we urge you, brothers, to progress even more, 11 and to aspire to live a tranquil life, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your [own] hands, as we instructed you, 12 that you may conduct yourselves properly toward outsiders and not depend on anyone.
  • 1 Th 5:2: For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night.
  • 1 Th 5:5: For all of you are children of the light and children of the day. We are not of the night or of darkness.
  • 1 Th 5:6: Therefore, let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us stay alert and sober.
  • 1 Th 5:9-10: 9 For God did not destine us for wrath, but to gain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him.
  • 1 Th 5:11: Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do.

1 TIMOTHY

  • 1 Tm 1:15:This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of these I am the foremost.
  • 1 Tm 1:16: But for that reason I was mercifully treated, so that in me, as the foremost, Christ Jesus might display all his patience as an example for those who would come to believe in him for everlasting life.
  • 1 Tm 3:11: Women, similarly, should be dignified, not slanderers, but temperate and faithful in everything.
  • 1 Tm 6:6-12: 6 Indeed, religion with contentment is a great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, just as we shall not be able to take anything out of it. 8 If we have food and clothing, we shall be content with that. 9 Those who want to be rich are falling into temptation and into a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains. 11 But you, man of God, avoid all this. Instead, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. 12 Compete well for the faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses.

2 TIMOTHY

  • 2 Tm 4:7: I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.
  • 2 Tm 4:17: But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength, so that through me the proclamation might be completed and all the Gentiles might hear it.
  • 2 Tm 4:18: The Lord will rescue me from every evil threat and will bring me safe to his heavenly kingdom.

TOBIT

  • Tb 2:14: Where are your charitable deeds now? Where are your virtuous acts? See! Your true character is finally showing itself!
  • Tb 6:18: Do not be afraid… So do not worry.
  • Tb 7:11: I am sure the Lord will look after you both… Your marriage to her has been decided in heaven! … From now on you are her love, and she is your beloved. She is yours today and ever after. And tonight, son, may the Lord of heaven prosper you both. May he grant you mercy and peace.
  • Tb 7:17: Be brave, my daughter. May the Lord of heaven grant you joy in place of your grief. Courage, my daughter.
  • Tb 8:7: Now, Lord, you know that I take this wife of mine not because of lust, but for a noble purpose. Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age.
  • Tb 12:6: Thank God! Give him the praise and the glory. Before all the living, acknowledge the many good things he has done for you, by blessing and extolling his name in song. Before all men, honour and proclaim God’s deeds, and do not be slack in praising him.
  • Tb 12:7: A king’s secret it is prudent to keep, but the works of God are to be declared and made known. Praise them with due honour. Do good, and evil will not find its way to you.
  • Tb 12:8-10: 8 Prayer and fasting are good, but better than either is almsgiving accompanied by righteousness. A little with righteousness is better than abundance with wickedness. It is better to give alms than to store up gold; 9 for almsgiving saves one from death and expiates every sin. Those who regularly give alms shall enjoy a full life; 10 but those habitually guilty of sin are their own worst enemies.
  • Tb 12:17: No need to fear; you are safe. Thank God now and forever.
  • Tb 12:18: So continue to thank him every day; praise him with song.
  • Tb 12:20: So now get up from the ground and praise God. … Write down all these things that have happened to you.
  • Tb 13:6: When you turn back to him with all your heart, to do what is right before him, then he will turn back to you, and no longer hide his face from you. So now consider what he has done for you, and praise him with full voice.

WISDOM

  • Ws 2:4: Even our name will be forgotten in time, and no one will recall our deeds.

  • Ws 2:6-7: 6 Come, therefore, let us enjoy the good things that are real, and use the freshness of creation avidly 7 …and let no springtime blossom pass us by.
